gutenbrowse

Gutenbrowse is a Project Gutenberg catalog browser, aimed for the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet.

Current features:

  • Download books from Project Gutenberg with a few stylys clicks
  • Books are stored on-disk in an organized way
  • Integration with FBreader; use it to read the books, and update its book list

The current version (0.1.1) is not feature-completem and the following functionality is planned:

  • Download books elsewhere than from Gutenberg
  • Book collection organization features
  • UI for configuration. (Currently, you need to edit /home/user/.gutenbrowserc manually.)

Install

Go here to install (IT OS 2008, might work also on OS 2007)

Or, do it the hard way:

  1. Install FBreader
  2. Install the package python2.5-runtime (from maemo extras)
  3. Download and install Gutenbrowse: gutenbrowse_0.1.1-0.1_all.deb

For developers: source code is available via a Mercurial repository.
